Poncho features Incan abstract pattern, and has a crochet neck with coconut buttons. It’s a cape style with open sides; easy to fling around a do up at the front or let hang open.
Free size will fit anyone right up to XXL. Lovely soft alpaca blend poncho (alpaca on a cotton/acrylic base*), these ponchos are nice & warm. All are hand-picked by us, not third parties, in Ecuador, then sent to Australia, and once sold, sent with Australia Post parcel post to you. We hold our ponchos in Australia so that you don't pay GST on an overseas purchase, and so that shipping can be fast instead of South American snail mail :)

All blankets, ponchos and shawls are approx. 60% alpaca on a 40% cotton-mixed-with-acrylic base. This makes the blanket stronger and durable. If you are after a 100% alpaca blanket (which are a lot more expensive due to longer and more intricate production processes - as well as obviously the higher alpaca content), I recommend either a Peruvian- or Australian-made blanket.
Washing instructions included with each item (cold machine wash on hand cycle with shampoo instead of detergent - no wool wash!)
Alpaca is a hollow fibre meaning it will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.
We work directly with indigenous artisan weavers in Ecuador to produce the best quality ponchos and blankets. We collaborate on colours and designs and our blankets are the only ones that feature crochet edging all around, giving them the finish they deserve, instead of just an overlocked edge. We believe in fair trade and always pay what is asked, which is a fair price - and never bargain down.
Blankets, throws, ponchos, scarves etc are all made in family workshops on looms and machinery that are about 80 years old. Families specialize in a particular item, and hence Woolly Llama works with three different extended families to source our alpaca products, each deservedly proud of their product, and also their culture/heritage it represents.
