Description
Not dated but estimated to have been made in the 1930s or 1940s.Advertised in a 1930 Julius Gans Southwest Arts & Crafts, Santa Fe, New Mexico Retail Catalog.
Hand Tailored from Genuine Hand Woven-All Wool Chimayo Material Style and Manufactured by Southwest Art and Crafts Sante Fe, New Mexico.
Vibrant turquoise Native American Chimayo hand woven jacket with original buttons with flowers etched onto them.
Exceptional condition considering its age. Handwoven with 100% wool.
Still has original label - made sometime around the 1940s by Southwest Arts and Crafts, which I believe was owned by Julius Gans.
Some thread fraying on the seam inside the upper right shoulder area. This involves the flap of fabric with the label on it. (looks like an easy fix) See pictures for better detail.
